Q: How do I book a portrait session with you?
A: To reserve a date for your portrait session, I require a signed contract and a $50 deposit. If your session is cancelled due to weather, I will reschedule it as soon as possible. The remaining balance will be due at the time of your session.
Q: Where can I have my portraits taken?
A: I offer two different session types: on-location and in-studio. If you choose an on-location session, I will travel to any location within 30 minutes of Dundee. Otherwise, my in-studio sessions are held at my studio, conveniently located off of M-50 in Dundee.
Please note: I can accommodate groups of 6 or less in my studio. For larger groups, please schedule an on-location session.
Q: What should I wear to my portrait session?
A: My best advice is to be yourself! Wear what is comfortable and natural to you. Focus on colors that work great with your skintone or great textures and fabrics that will make for great photos. If you are having a group or family photo, choose a scheme of two or three colors for people to choose from. I always think it looks best when everyone is coordinating, but not necessarily matching.
Q: Can family pets be included in my portrait session?
A: Absolutely! As a dog-lover, I wouldn’t want to leave out any furry family members! I only ask that they are friendly and well-behaved.
Please contact me to arrange an in-studio session with your pet.
Q: Do you have any of those cute props or hats for baby and child portraits?
A: I have a number of chairs, stools, and posing props at my studio, but do not stock any baby hats/wraps/tutus/etc. I want your session to be unique and would hate for the same hat to show up in 10 different newborn sessions. However, I do encourage you to bring anything cute, cuddly or cool. You might also consider objects from your home that have special meaning, or your child’s favorite blanket or toy. If you need suggestions on what to bring, or where to purchase some adorable accessories, I can help you decide!
Q: How long does it take to receive my images?
A: Your images will be ready to view online within 30 days of your portrait session.
Q: How many images will I receive from my portrait session?
A: A 1-hour session will yield a minimum of 20 final edited images, plus black and white versions.
Q: My session includes a “print credit” …what’s that about?
A: All portrait sessions include a $75 print credit, which is just like a gift certificate. After your images are posted to your online gallery, you will receive a promotion code that is worth $75. Just select the print sizes and quantities that you want, enter the code at checkout, and they will be shipped directly to you.
Q: Will I receive any image files from my session?
A: Yes, when you place your print order, you will also receive a low-resolution version of each image that you order (ideal for posting to Facebook).
A disc of your high-resolution images may also be purchased separately.
If you have more questions, or would like to receive a contract, please email me.
